PRX-T33: ingredients, realistic uses and safe aftercare

1 PRX-T33: ingredients, realistic uses and safe aftercare

PRX-T33 is often called “needle-free biorevitalisation” or a “peel without peeling”. Both phrases oversimplify it. It is a professional topical formulation containing 33% trichloroacetic acid (TCA), hydrogen peroxide and kojic acid. It does not inject hyaluronic acid like biorevitalisation, and cannot guarantee zero redness or flaking.

It may be considered for dull tone, mild surface irregularity and selected signs of chrono- and photodamage. Response depends on barrier condition, phototype, diagnosis and aftercare. Evidence for the specific product includes small clinical studies, but is more limited than for many established dermatological methods.

What is in the formulation?

Ingredient Role in the formulation Important point
33% TCA Acid agent interacting with tissue proteins This concentration is not intended for unsupervised home use
Hydrogen peroxide Modifies the formulation’s tissue interaction It does not make TCA neutral or risk-free
Kojic acid Supports work on uneven tone Does not replace diagnosis or photoprotection

Concentration alone does not determine effect. pH, combination, application passes, massage technique, area and skin condition all matter. Comparing PRX-T33 with another TCA peel solely by percentage is misleading.

PRX-T33, conventional peels and TCA CROSS

A chemical peel produces controlled injury at a chosen depth to prompt renewal. Depth depends on agent, concentration, pH, layers and skin preparation. TCA CROSS is focal placement of high-concentration TCA inside narrow atrophic scars, not treatment of the whole surface.

Procedure Application Main target Typical recovery
PRX-T33 Layered over a selected area using its protocol Tone, superficial texture and skin quality May be limited, but reactions remain possible
Superficial peel A selected acid solution over the surface Keratinisation, comedones or superficial pigment Mild dryness to flaking
Medium-depth TCA peel Controlled deeper acid injury More pronounced texture and pigment change Longer healing and greater risk
TCA CROSS Focal application into a scar Deep narrow atrophic scars Local crusts and redness
Biorevitalisation Injection Skin quality and hydration according to product Papules, bruising and swelling may occur

Who may be suitable?

PRX-T33 at IYA Clinic may enter a plan for dull complexion, mild superficial unevenness, early photodamage or controlled renewal without intensive resurfacing.

It is not a universal solution for deep scars, marked tissue descent, active inflammatory acne, vascular redness or every pigmented spot.

Concern Possible PRX-T33 role What may matter more
Dull uneven tone Possible after assessment Daily sun protection and corrected skincare
Superficial texture Possible Determine whether actual scars are present
Pigmentation Selected superficial changes Distinguish melasma, PIH, lentigo or another lesion
Active acne Not sole treatment Evidence-based control of inflammation and comedones
Deep scars Limited Subcision, TCA CROSS, laser or RF where indicated
Laxity and jawline Not a primary target RF, ultrasound or surgical comparison

What happens during treatment?

The clinician cleans and assesses the skin, then applies small amounts in passes according to protocol. Areas and number of passes depend on response. Warmth, tingling or burning may be felt, followed by recommended barrier-support products.

“No downtime” does not mean the skin is guaranteed to look unchanged. Temporary redness, tightness, dryness, sensitivity and fine flaking may occur, especially if the barrier was already impaired.

Preparation

Disclose cold sores, dermatitis, allergy, impaired healing, pigmentation tendency, pregnancy, breastfeeding, tanning, recent lasers, peels, injections and medication. Do not apply to active infection, an open wound or acutely irritated skin.

The clinician may adjust retinoids, acids, benzoyl peroxide or other actives. Do not stop prescriptions independently. If water and basic moisturiser already sting, barrier recovery may need to come first.

Aftercare

Action Practical guidance
Cleansing Gentle product and lukewarm water; no brush or scrub
Moisturising Barrier-support product recommended by the clinician
Sun Broad-spectrum SPF 30–50, shade and reapplication
Active ingredients Resume acids and retinoids only on the agreed schedule
Sauna, pool, intensive exercise Temporarily limit while redness or sensitivity persists
Makeup After settling and only on an intact surface

Do not pick flakes or accelerate treatment with another acid. Severe pain, blisters, weeping, marked swelling, spreading crusting or infection signs need clinical advice.

Risks and limits of evidence

Irritation, contact reaction, burns, prolonged redness, PIH, hypopigmentation, herpes reactivation and infection are possible. Risk depends on barrier health, phototype, technique and aftercare.

A study of PRX-T33 for mild-to-moderate chrono- and photodamage reported potential improvement, but it was a small single-centre open-label pilot without a large control group. Such a design cannot establish an identical benefit for everyone.

How many treatments?

Course length depends on target, baseline and response. It is reasonable to assess tolerance rather than buy many sessions in advance. If progress is limited, diagnosis and method should be reconsidered rather than continuing indefinitely.

For dehydrated skin, comparison with biorevitalisation may help; pigment and vessels may suit BBL; scar texture may call for laser or Morpheus8. These are not interchangeable.

Frequently asked questions

Is PRX-T33 a peel?

It is a professional TCA-containing topical formulation, often positioned as a modified peel or biostimulatory treatment. Its protocol differs from a conventional single-acid peel.

Will my skin peel?

Heavy sheet-like peeling is not required, but dryness and fine flaking can occur. A promise of no reaction is inaccurate.

Can PRX-T33 be used at home?

No. A professional 33% TCA formulation requires assessment, correct technique and management of adverse reactions.

Does it remove melasma?

Melasma is chronic and relapsing. Any procedure is only part of a plan with photoprotection and home therapy; irritation can worsen pigment.

Can it be combined with microneedling or laser?

Some protocols use combinations, but cumulative injury rises. Sequence and intervals must be selected medically.

When is the result visible?

Smoothness may appear earlier, while durable texture change takes time. Immediate shine or swelling is not the final result.

This article is educational and does not replace consultation. PRX-T33 requires professional use after assessment of indications, contraindications and barrier condition.
